I started racing karts when I was 10. Racing Briggs & Stratton karts in a parking lot at a beach in Connecticut every weekend taught me the basics, and also a few tricks. Eventually we moved to a purpose-built karting track, and switched to Shifter Karts. Karting helped me build my passion for racing, and hone my skills.

I went through the Skip Barber Racing School, then through their racing series. I won several races, and at the end of that year, signed a contract with the Volvo Factory Racing team. My teammate was the legendary Derek Bell. I raced with them for two years in the SCCA SPEED World Challenge. I have also raced in the Grand-Am Rolex GT series, tested in ALMS for Panoz, and various other series. I have raced at tracks across the U.S., Europe, and Mexico.
