Thanks to a very generous donation from Volvo Cars of North America and Volvo of Stamford, I will be joining Team LIVESTRONG for the NYC Half-Marathon on March 21. Volvo and Volvo of Stamford have donated $2,000 to LIVESTRONG to help raise awareness and fight cancer.

You can also donate to my running effort at the NYC Half-Marathon by going to my LIVESTRONG Fundraising Page and making any sort of donation, even if it’s only $1; every donation helps.

Thanks to everyone who participated in The Grid, but unfortunately I had to cancel the project before leaving for Spa. I was unable to raise enough funds through the project to justify the printing, application, etc. I will continue to leave The Grid page on my site for those of you who participated.

I am offering two options to all of those that participated: 1) Refund of your money or 2) 100% donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation via the Motorsport Army

Please email me at jameson@rileyracing.com or send me a tweet to @jamesonriley with your choice.

I’m going to try a new project similar to this one for our season finale Grand-Am KONI race in the Mazda RX-8 at VIR, and will post details about this project soon.

Thanks again to all who participated.

I’ve just announced a great opportunity for anyone to get their name, face, picture, logo, etc., onto the Fun Cup car that I’ll be driving at the 25 hours of Spa-Francorchamps event in July: and a space is only $10!!!

There is a link in the main menu at the top of every page, or you can simply click here: Spa-Francorchamps 25 Hour.

Follow the link to that page for all the details. And remember, 10% of all “sponsorship” money raised for this event will go directly to LIVESTRONG and the Lance Armstrong Foundation via the Motorsport Army!

My girlfriend of 5 years, Allison, and I will be running the 2009 Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 11. I’ll be running to benefit the LIVESTRONG Motorsport Army and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and am looking for sponsors for the run: 100% of all sponsorship money will go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Donations can be made directly through my LIVESTRONG Motorsport Army Fundraising page.

Here’s a picture of Allie and me out at dinner – we’ll upload some pictures of the run after the marathon!:

I’m going to be driving in the 25 hours of Spa-Francorchamps in the Fun Cup UK Series on July 10-11, which will give me a great opportunity to build-up some miles for my LIVESTRONG Pledge and help raise more awareness for the LIVESTRONG Motorsport Army (benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation). We’ll be driving a Fun Cup car with a diesel engine, which will get us much better fuel mileage than the petrol powered racers.

Here is a quick video about the Fun Cup UK Series:

Some more details to follow shortly.

The LIVESTRONG Motorsport Army now has a Facebook Fan Page, where any Facebook members can join, and/or donate to the cause; 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation via the Facebook App.

I’ve started the new LIVESTRONG Motorsport Army, and combined by 2009 Pledge into the Army. The purpose of the LMA is to help raise awareness in the motorsport community for cancer and the LAF’s Global fight of the disease.

Click on the LIVESTRONG Motorsport Army logo to go to our Facebook Fan Page where you can help raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

I’m currently working to secure funding and a seat for the 24 hrs of Daytona in the Grand-Am Rolex GT Series, January 22-25. If I drive in this race, that would be approximately 590 miles that I complete during my stints…this would contribute $590 to LIVESTRONG.

I’ll be using this site to keep followers up-to-date of my 2009 pledge to donate $1 to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for every mile that I race in 2009. I’ve had many family members and friends either fight, survive, or lose to cancer…this disease needs to be beaten, and the more that people know about the disease, how to fight and survive it, and the more people that support this cause, the better it is for everyone.

I’ve set up a Grassroots Campaign at livestrong.org: http://www.livestrong.org/grassroots2009/jamesonriley

I’m not asking for any donations here…this is simply for people to track my progress and see how much money has been raised for the LAF organization.

I’ll also be posting updates from my season and progress via Twitter, at twitter.com/jamesonriley.
